Our Fall 2020 Release is Here!

It’s official! Our Wine Club release will be October 30, 2020! Each 6-bottle membership will include:

2 x 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon
2 x 2015 Methodology Sparkling Rosé
1 x 2017 Pinot Gris
1 x 2017 Pinot Noir

Becca will email 12-bottle subscribers individually regarding your wine arrangements.

This is our first ever varietal Cabernet Sauvignon! This vintage is aromatic and fruity with black currant, coffee and cocoa notes, and an incredibly smooth and polished texture. We’re very pleased with this release.

Methodology, our inaugural vintage 2015 sparkling rosé, has notes of papaya and cranberry and was produced in the traditional method, where yeast perform a secondary fermentation in the actual bottle to generate the bubbles. This wine spent five years aging in the bottle on these same yeast lees to create the richness of a champagne. Methodology is an extremely limited release with only 300 bottles made total.

Our 2017 Pinot Gris and 2017 Pinot Noir were included in last fall’s Wine Club release, but we are including them again in this release because they are just so darn good right now!

The retail value of this year’s 6-bottle release is $158, but will be $105 for Wine Club members (before tax). Unfortunately, because of public health considerations, we can’t offer our normal release party, so we hope better-than-normal discounts on the fall bag, and the high quality of the wines, make up for it! If you’d like to change your arrangement, any bottles you swap in will be 30% off instead of the usual 20%, and any extra bottles you’d like to add on will be 30% off. It’s a good time to stock up.

If you’d like to make any substitutions, please let Becca know before October 28th. Credit cards will be billed 10/29, and bags will be available for pick-up starting October 30th. You can pick them up during regular tasting room hours or by private appointment any other day. Email Becca at info@lakemichiganvintners.com.

As always, our Wine Club member receive free tastings when you come into the tasting room, and you are welcome outside of regular tasting hours! Simply set up a private appointment.

We really enjoy private appointments – they’re more convenient for guests, they’re safer for you and for our staff, and we can usually give you a winery tour if you want one! To schedule something, let Becca know by email or by phone, at least 24 hours in advance so she gets the message on time. We look forward to seeing you.

A bottle of hard cider next to a bottle of Rose wine.

Rosé and Hard Cider Case Sale

From now until November 1st, cases of our 2019 Rosé and 2018 Hard Cider are available for $99. If you’d like to pick one up, get in touch with Becca or buy through the website. If you’re in Michigan, we’ll happily ship them to you.

This time of year is always so fulfilling. Autumn color sets Southwest Michigan aglow, and the aromas of grapes and fermentation saturate our daily lives: harvest, crush, press, repeat. Our new students learn a generations-old craft while considering their own individual futures within this tradition and industry. Thank you for your support – you make this work possible. We look forward to seeing you and sharing wine with you this month.

Warmly,
Michael Moyer
Director, Lake Michigan Vintners
